easter

We heard a local park was having a breakfast and candy hunt, so we grabbed our Easter baskets and went to check it out. They had an Easter bunny, some high school mascots, and the Chick-fil-A cow wandering around shaking hands. Madilyn wasn't fooled by the costumes and immediately said, "That's just a person PRETENDING to be the Easter bunny." But that didn't stop her from wanting to meet him.
The candy hunt was pure madness. They had it broken down into age categories, but there were still so many people it was nuts! They asked the parents to stay out of the area and just send the kids in to look for eggs on their own, but that only lasted about 15 seconds before a wave of parents rushed forward trying to make their kids get the eggs. Madilyn managed to get a head start in that 15 seconds before the parents overran the area, so she got 4-5 eggs, but by the time I pushed Abby forward there was nothing left. Luckily Madilyn shared.
Our favorite part was a helicopter that dumped hundreds of pink pong balls in a field. Each ball had a number on it that you could take to a local business for free stuff. The rush for ping pong balls was even crazier than the 3-year-old egg hunt, so we didn't get any.
We drove down to visit Grandma Nancy when we got done at the park. We waited a little too long before having our own egg hunt, so it was nearly dark when the girls started looking. They still managed to find plenty of candy though.
