cape may

We took the drive to the southern tip of NJ to visit Cape May. The REAL reason we went was for Eric's mom to visit the gift shop, but we made a few stops on the way there and back.
We had a picnic at the Cape May lighthouse.
You have to pay to go to the top and there's no elevator, so we didn't even consider making the trek up with the kids and Grandma.
Eric went out to check out this old WWII bunker. The ladies were satisfied to view it from afar.
After the lighthouse we headed to the all-important gift shop, then we stopped at the Cape May zoo on the way home. It was nearly closing time and we couldn't see many of the animals, but it was free and fun.We spent most of the time in the reptile house. The girls really liked the snake-neck turtles, but I thought they were kinda creepy.
Getting a better view.Yikes! An albino alligator!
On the way out we were lucky to see the snow leopard cubs that weren't there on the way in.All in all it was a very fun but LONG day.
