egg decorating

We didn't get around to dyeing eggs before Easter but I didn't want my $0.99 egg kit to go to waste so we boiled some eggs and dyed them the following Tuesday. Madilyn did a pretty good job coloring on some eggs, but despite all my warnings she plopped an egg into the blue dye the first chance she got. Luckily it didn't make too much of a mess.

She was pretty excited when the eggs came up different colors, and especially liked to see our drawings show up.

It's kind of funny how such simple things can be so fun to a two-year-old. She wanted to eat the eggs as soon as we got done with them, so she was disappointed that I made her wait until Eric got home to show him what we'd done. She wanted to peel the egg all by herself (I ended up helping), then, after all that effort, she took one bite and wouldn't eat anymore.

Jeannette! Madilyn is starting to look a lot like you when you were little- minus the dark hair. What a cutie! And I just love Abby's cheeks!

I love Madilyn's shirt. You're such a fun mommy to do that stuff with your kiddies, even when they're so little. Glad she had so much fun with it. And good for her to even try an egg!
